Innovation is in our blood.
Responsible for the design and development of the Psion, the world’s first ever mobile app store, the first mobile email service and the first portal between SMS and email, our team has consistently turned ideas into reality – transforming the UK mobile industry.
When the PDAs of the 1990s faded in favour of modern smartphones, a large portion of mobile users lost the ability to type comfortably on mobile devices. But the need for on-the-go productivity never disappeared. In fact, with flexible working and the 24-hour economy meaning people need to stay productive all the time, it has only got greater.
Based in London, Planet Computers took up the mantle with one goal: to bring back the mobile keyboard!
The result was the award-winning Gemini PDA – our first PDA smartphone. After securing more than $2.5 million in investment, the ‘Palmtop inspired’ device shipped to consumers across the globe. It introduced a whole new generation to the power of micro-computers and its success led to the development of our next flagship device, the Cosmo Communicator.
By offering a full physical keyboard (in 24 languages including QWERTY and AZERTY) and multiple operating systems (Android, Sailfish, Linux), we have modernised the PDA for the 21st century. The clamshell form-factor is back.
