Planet Computers has released a series of bespoke apps for the Gemini on the Google Play store. These include: organiser app Agenda, Notes, a database application called Data and most recently Air Mail, an email app custom made for landscape display.
The Agenda app was developed specifically for a landscape user interface (UI) and keyboard control. It is packed with features, including: day, week, month and yearly view modes; multiple and shared calendars; anniversary reminders; email invitations via Google; the ability to use Google Maps to set locations for events; To-Do list creation and management; and a time-zone management function, enabling users to view their diaries in both their local time zone and the zone in which an event is taking place.
Data is a mobile database application for everyday users. It allows creation of databases, for easy access and regular use - at work or at home. Data has import and export features, allowing it to use existing data sources on the move.
Notes is designed to fit perfectly in the Gemini eco-system. It allows users to write simple notes or dictate them. Notes can include text, images, videos, voice recordings and camera shots. Notes can also be sent to various Android apps.
Most recently released is Airmail – an email app. Based on K-9, Airmail allows access to IMAP, POP3 and Exchange (via WebDAV) email accounts. The app is aimed at Android PDAs and keyboard-oriented devices - like the Gemini.
Dr Janko Mrsic-Flogel, CEO of Planet Computers, comments: “2018 has been a successful year for the Gemini. Users around the world are now enjoying the benefits of the device –typing and creating content on the move, all with a PDA that fits in their pocket.”
