Planet Computers reaches for the stars at CES 2019

Planet Computers will be exhibiting at International CES in Las Vegas, 8th – 12th January, as part of the official UK delegation. Planet will showcase the first prototypes of the hotly anticipated Cosmo Communicator - a pocketable clamshell smartphone with dual touchscreen displays and a physical backlit keyboard.

Cosmo is designed to be a true all-in-one communicator, with dual 4G connectivity and a high-resolution camera, and is the second handset developed by Planet Computers. Having already raised more than $1 million in investment, Cosmo has also been named a CES 2019 Innovation Awards Honouree.

Dr Janko Mrsic-Flogel, CEO of Planet Computers, comments: “CES has a special place in the Planet Computers story – it was where we first launched the Gemini PDA in January 2017. To come back again 12 months later with the first Cosmo prototypes, having won a CES Innovation Award for the second consecutive year is a tremendous achievement and we look forward to representing the UK delegation.”

Following on from the success of the Gemini PDA in 2017 – which raised more than $2.5 million in investment and shipped to backers around the world – Cosmo has a number of additional features catered for the modern smartphone audience, including: a secondary external colour AMOLED screen; a 24 MP external camera; fingerprint sensor and NFC capability.

CES attendees can find the Gemini and the first ever Cosmo prototypes on display at Eureka Park, Sands, Hall G, Booth 51441
